Silal acquires a majority stake in SAFCO to extend its reach across the food value chain

AbuDhabi, United Arab Emirates– October 10, 2023:Silal, Abu Dhabi’s leading food, agriculture, and technologycompany, has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in SAFCO,a leading food and beverage distributor headquartered in the UnitedArab Emirates.

MarkingSilal’s second acquisition in 2023, SAFCO adds significantcommercial capabilities in the import, export and distribution offoodstuffs, underpinned by cutting-edge facilities; a portfoliocomprising leading local and international brands; an extensiveclient base particularly in the hospitality, restaurant and cateringsegment; and an export footprintspanning 70+ countries across the wider Middle East and Africaregions.

Thesecapabilities ideally complement Silal’s existing operations byextending its reach across the food value chain to encompassproduction, procurement and distribution. Customers of the combinedbusiness are set to benefit from an enhanced portfolio of productsand services and Silal’s and SAFCO’s joint commitment toexcellence.
